The United Way of Van Wert County allots funds called Community Impact Funding that is to be allocated to qualified applicants each year. Recently, the Convoy Village Council & Convoy Community Foundation jointly applied for and was granted $3,000 to help further the Convoy Village Square Project. The Convoy Village Square is the former location of a hardware and grocery store located in the center of Convoy on the busiest cross section of roads. The location will now provide a community area that can be used all year around by many organizations for various community events such as festivals, concerts, markets, and a place to hang out with family and friends. The Convoy Community Foundation is providing matching funds up to $7,500 to complete the project. The United Way also aided in awarding the project a $1,000 grant through Serve Ohio.
