The Day of Caring barrels will be placed in local businesses, schools, and industries for collections of non-perishable food and personal care items. On September 28th the barrels are picked up and taken out to Vantage Career Center to be sorted. The goal for this year’s food drive is 36,000 items.
This year a collaboration will take place and now, food and items will be disbursed between Salvation Army, Trinity Friends Church, and the Van Wert Cooperative Ministries Food Pantry. This will make the event even bigger and better knowing it is going to a total of three pantries and getting more items into more homes.
The top need this year is:
- deodorant
- shampoo
- dish soap
- feminine products
- laundry detergent
- toilet paper
