United Way of Van Wert County’s community partner for the 2022-23 campaign is Central Insurance. Each year, the United Way campaign highlights a new community partner, and in return the business helps support the United Way in several areas. The areas of support could be running an industry campaign, which allows employees to make a pledge through payroll deductions, volunteering or supporting the United Way’s many events.
Central Insurance has been one of the longest supporters of the United Way, with employees raising well over $3,000,000 in the last 30 years alone! They support many United Way events including the Day of Caring Food Drive and Blood Drive, Cupcake Wars, and Fiesta Fun Friday, making them a multimillion dollar supporter. The United Way has also been honored to have many Central employees on the Board of Trustees in the past and currently serving.
Central’s partnership with the United Way has a long history that we’re extremely proud of because it represents our shared mission of putting community and people first. We are grateful for every opportunity to serve our hometown and we are committed to preserving this meaningful collaboration for years to come. – Jena Wierwille, Vice President of Human Resources, Central Insurance.
For their first project as a community partner, Central has accepted the challenge of raising $100,000 for the centennial United Way campaign. Central employees also recently pitched in to help at the annual clean up day at Wee Care Learning Center, a United Way Funded Agency.
