United Way of Van Wert County recently granted Challenged Higher a check for $1,723. The money was given on behalf of the New Initiative Funds which allows organizations that are tax exempt to apply in order to help with a one-time need or project in Van Wert County.
The funds received are to aid in the recent purchase of a new shed for storage. Challenged Higher is a drop-in center that offers many different activities throughout the day. Craft groups, peer support, cooking groups, chat packs, games and karaoke are all available at the facility, along with special events throughout the year.
